Roger Glossop awarded an MBE for Services to Theatre

We are thrilled to learn that Director and Trustee of The Old Laundry Theatre, Roger Glossop has been awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours List for ‘Services to Theatre’. The Honour is in recognition of Roger’s lifetime contribution to theatre. Roger is also the Director and Co-creator of the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and Trustee of The Victoria Wood Foundation and the Shell Heritage Guide Trust.
Commenting on the award, Roger said “I was truly shocked and amazed to receive this award for something I’ve loved being part of all my working life. Theatre and the Arts need all the recognition they can get in these difficult times, and I hope this award encourages everyone I’ve worked in collaboration with.“
Roger Glossop – Designer
Roger trained at Wimbledon School of Art and started his design career at the Crucible Theatre Sheffield. He has worked for many years with Alan Ayckbourn; creating over 70 designs for him in the West End, Scarborough and abroad.

Exhibitions: Co-designed The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness on Windermere with Elaine Garrard and Richard Jarvis, and with Elaine co-designed The Wind In the Willows, Henley upon Thames.
Roger devised and designed Where is Peter Rabbit? Bowness /West End/ Hong Kong & Singapore and most recently Happy Birthday Peter Rabbit. He is currently working on a new Peter Rabbit show for 2026 – ‘Peter Rabbit to the Rescue’ and a short film script ‘The Good Samaritan‘.
